Rheingau Riesling Winzersekt b.A. Brut Barth - Wein

If you were to ask yourself how an ideal Riesling sparkling wine from Germany should taste best, then the Riesling Winzersekt from sparkling wine specialist Barth would be a prime example. The base wine comes from loess soils, which bring fruit and finesse to the grapes and are typical of the Rheingau. The Riesling Brut is produced in traditional bottle fermentation and is on the yeast at a constant temperature for 24 months before it is hand-shaken and disgorged. The long yeast storage gives the wine its structure, but allows the tautness and typical aromas of the Riesling to take precedence. Carefree and happy, but full of depth as only a Riesling can. A playful aroma of limes, apricots and hay flowers on the nose. In the mouth with a gripping, refreshingly fine acidity and a hint of chalky minerality.
