Château Maillet

James Suckling 93-94 / Neal Martin, WineAdvocat 89-91 The 2016 Maillet has a smudged bouquet, a little warmth coming through and blurring the lines of the black cherry and raspberry fruit. The palate is better with crisp and slightly edgy tannin, tobacco-tinged black fruit with a grippy, slightly austere finish that just needs a little more flesh to balance it out. You know, it might well come good by the time of bottling. Stay tuned.
