Appassimento Rosso Veronese IGT Collezione Fasoli - Azienda Agricola Fasoli

Following the success of the Amarone della Valpolicella with the same distinctive label, the Fasolis are expanding their COLLEZIONE line to include this appassimento, which is bottled as Rosso Veronese IGT. So it's not an Amarone and not a Ripasso, but for this country wine too, the grapes are concentrated by drying, as is a centuries-old tradition in the region. The first nose has hints of malt candy, kola nut and balsamic vinegar. Then lots of dark cherry fruit, coconut and milk chocolate. Very captivating with lots of extract sweetness and its smooth tannins, a typical appassimento. Yet surprisingly fresh thanks to its herbal-menthol notes.
