South Tyrol's wine experts agree: 2022 will be a great vintage, benefiting from the above-average summer temperatures. The white wines are developing well and are exceptionally powerful, yet fresh and fruity. Good sugar levels, high phenolic ripeness, and very healthy grapes suggest great potential. While aging still predominantly takes place in small barriques, around 30% is now aged in large wooden casks. The wine rests on the lees for about a year, followed by another year of bottle aging. The nose is very dense with vanilla and, as is often the case, white pepper and a wonderful almond aroma. In the background, there are floral notes, green tea, and a touch of citrus. On the palate, it is incredibly creamy, minerally saline, and intense, with notes of Williams pear, apricot, and peach. Opulent yet delicately elegant, despite the relatively low acidity this year.
