The highest quality level of Brunello is the Riserva, it is only produced in exceptional vintages such as the great 2015. Only the best barrel in the cellar, the yields here are 3,000 - 3,500 kg per hectare, mind you, grapes. The quantities are correspondingly limited. In 2015 the Riserva comes from the famous Castelnuovo dell’Abate district. The elegant wine is already impressive in the nose, a hint of dried roses, black cherries, a little smoke. On the palate, despite the density, it is soft and mineral with fine tannins and spicy notes of liquorice and red currants. In the hearty and long finish, the Riserva then flexes its muscles. Great wine!
