Zarihs Syrah Campo de Borja DO - Bodegas BorsaoThe Zarihs Syrah Campo de Borja from Bodegas Borsao is the latest result of a collaboration between Australian wine icon Chris Ringland and Borsao winemaker José Luis Cueca. Tasting notes/ Degustation The Zarihs Syrah from Bodegas Borsao shimmers a deep, dark red in the glass. Notes of blackberry, smoky wood and vanilla are immediately apparent on the nose. On the palate, this Spanish red wine from the Campo de Borja DOP appears full-bodied and powerful; the taste is also dominated by dark fruits, which are accompanied by delicate aromas of prune and chocolate. Soft tannins and a mild acidity complete the overall work of art. Vinification/ Production The grapes for this red wine grow in a continental climate at an altitude of about 600 to 700 meters. High temperature fluctuations between day and night and little rainfall allow the vines to grow and ripen optimally and in complete peace. The limestone soil is interspersed with pebbles and provides excellent storage of the sun's heat as well as the little moisture present. The grapes are harvested gently and processed after careful control and selection. Serving Suggestion/ Food Pairing This red wine can be enjoyed simply by itself or it can be served with spicy grilled meats.
