Rosso Piceno DOC - Tenuta di TavignanoThe Rosso Piceno from Tenuta di Tavignano in the Marche region has a bright, ruby red color in the wine glass. This Italian cuvée presents wonderfully expressive notes of plums, damsons, morello cherries and black cherries in the glass. There are also hints of cinnamon, gingerbread spice and vanilla. The Rosso Piceno from Tenuta di Tavignano is ideal for all wine connoisseurs who like as little sweetness as possible in their wine. However, it is never sparse or brittle, as you would naturally expect from a wine in the upper price range. This silky red wine is balanced and complex on the palate. Thanks to its vital fruit acidity, the Rosso Piceno is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this storable red wine from the Marche wine-growing region finally impresses with its considerable length. Once again, there are hints of plum and prune. Mineral notes from the sand and gravel-dominated soil are added to the finish. Vinification of the Tenuta di Tavignano Rosso Piceno This balanced Rosso Piceno from Italy is a cuvée made from the Montepulciano and Sangiovese grape varieties. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on sand and gravel soils in the Marche region. After the grape harvest, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation in large Slavonian oak barrels. The ageing in the barrel is followed by extensive bottle ageing over 6 months, which makes this red wine even more complex. Dining recommendations for Tenuta di Tavignano Rosso Piceno This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to a potato pan with salmon, pumpkin casserole or cabbage roulades.
