Mandus Primitivo di Manduria DOC - Pietra PuraThe color of the wonderfully structured Mandus Primitivo di Manduria from Pietra Pura is an intense, dark cherry red, interspersed with violet reflections. In the glass, this red wine from Italy has a very intense aroma of fruity sour cherries, plums, blackberries and cassis, accentuated by light roasted notes such as cocoa and vanilla from ageing in barriques. On the palate, Mandus Primitivo is characterized by sweet tannins and a soft taste. A harmoniously integrated vanilla note and subtle wood nuances round off the taste perfectly right into the long finish. Vinification of the Mandus Primitivo di Manduria DOC Mandus from Pietra Pura The Pietra Pura line is the result of the collaboration between Rocca delle Macie, the Zingarelli family winery, and the Terre di Sava winery in Apulia. The grapes for this pure Primitivo are harvested in the San Marzano area. After fermentation at a controlled temperature, the red wine is gently pressed and the skins and seeds are removed. It then matures for a good four months in French oak barrels. Dining recommendations for Mandus Primitivo Serve Mandus Primitivo di Manduria from Pietra Pura at 16-18°C with meat sauces, game and hard cheeses. This wine also goes well with Parmesan-baked eggplants. Awards Mundus Vini 2021 - Silver
