
Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC - StemmariThe Nero d'Avola from Stemmari is a smooth, aromatic and pure red wine from the Italian wine-growing region of DOC Sicilia. This wine has an intense ruby red color with violet reflections in the glass. An intense bouquet skillfully caresses the nose. Expressive aromas of sun-ripened redcurrants, freshly picked wild strawberries and ripe pomegranate are revealed. This Italian red wine is wonderfully smooth on the palate. The fruity character is perfectly accentuated and harmonizes perfectly with the velvety texture. Vinification of Stemmari Nero d'Avola Sicilia The Nero d'Avola vines for this red wine grow in both Sambuca di Sicilia (province of Agrigento) and Acate (province of Ragusa). The Nero d'Avola grapes are harvested when fully ripe in the first week of September. Once the grapes arrive in the Stemmari wine cellar, they are destemmed and fermented on the skins for 6 to 8 days at a controlled temperature (22 to 24 degrees Celsius) in stainless steel tanks. This wine undergoes complete malolactic fermentation. Finally, this wine matures for 6 months in French oak barriques.
