In La Rioja, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and limestone. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for Crianza Rioja are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a maturation of 14 months in French and American oak barrels.
