To the nose, this Anthonij Rupert Wyne white wine shows all sorts of oranges. As if that were not already impressive, lime and toasted wood join in due to the aging in large wooden barrels. On the palate, Anthonij Rupert Wyne's Cape of Good Hope Serruria Chardonnay starts wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. There is dry and really dry. This white wine belongs to the second group, as it was vinified with only 2 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this well-balanced white wine is characterized by a tremendously creamy texture. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Cape of Good Hope Serruria Chardonnay is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of the Western Cape finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of orange. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the slate-dominated soils join in. Vinification of the Anthonij Rupert Wyne Cape of Good Hope Serruria Chardonnay This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Chardonnay. For this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Anthonij Rupert Wyne, only the best grape material was brought in. In the Western Cape, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of shale. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and gently broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a maturation of 11 months in oak barrels. It is perfect as an accompaniment to chickpea curry, pasta with sausage dumplings or spinach gratin with almonds.
