Vinification of the Grüner Veltliner from Glatzer The elegant Grüner Veltliner from Austria is a single varietal wine, made from the grape variety Grüner Veltliner. In Lower Austria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and sand. The grapes for this white wine from Austria are harvested exclusively by hand, at the time of optimal ripeness. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Grüner Veltliner is left to harmonize on its fine lees for a few months.
