Dark Knight - Castello di GabbianoThe Dark Knight from Castello di Gabbiano is a modern interpretation of an Italian red wine cuvée made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Merlot (30%) and Sangiovese (20%). In the glass, this wine shimmers in an expressive ruby red with purple highlights. The nose reveals intense aromas of red berries - particularly raspberry, blackberry and some strawberry - paired with sweet, spicy hints of coffee, chocolate and vanilla. On the palate, this red wine impresses with a wonderful drinking flow. The soft tannins are perfectly balanced and nestle against the powerful body. The finish has a wonderful length. Vinification of the Gabbiano Dark Knight After the grapes are harvested, they are immediately taken to the Castello di Gabbiano winery. Some of the grapes are cold macerated in stainless steel tanks before temperature-controlled maceration. The 6-month maturation in large oak barrels ensures the wonderful color and soft tannins. Recommendation for the Dark Knight from Gabbiano This dry red wine from Italy is best enjoyed with game dishes in a dark sauce with potatoes, or with mature cheeses.
