Les Amis Grenache - TorbreckThe Les Amis from Torbreck is a single-varietal top red wine from the Grenache grape variety. This Australian wine already convinces with its strong, deep dark red in the glass. The bouquet is incredibly layered and complex: aromas of white flowers, smoke and roasted herbs unfold - followed by ripe black cherries with delicate earthy hints. The palate presents a round, full-bodied character with pleasant spiciness. The fresh acidity offers the perfect interplay with the wonderfully ripe tannins. The finish awaits with excellent length. Vinification of the Torbreck Les Amis With the encouragement of wine expert Ignatius Chan, Dave Powell now vinifies this premium red wine exclusively in new barrique barrels - this vinification does not follow any tradition. The grapes come from a special parcel of the Seppeltsfield vineyard in the Barossa Valley. The Grenache vines were planted in 1901. After a careful hand harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. There, the must is fermented in cement vats for 7 days. Then, with the help of basket presses, this red wine is directly pressed in French oak barriques (100% new). Wood aging takes place for a total of 22 months. Food recommendation for the Les Amis Torbreck Grenache This dry red wine from Australia is a real pleasure with roast venison with cranberries, suckling pig fresh from the open grill or with selected cheeses.
