
White Port - NiepoortIn the glass, the White Port of Niepoort reveals itself in a beautiful dark golden hue. From the Arinto, Códega, Gouveio, Rabigato, Viosinho and other white Portuguese grape varieties this port is vinified. The nose is filled with fresh aromas of nuts and hints of dried fruit. This Port nestles semi-dry on the palate, reflecting the optimal interaction with the brandy that gives this Port its superior structure. Vinification of Niepoort White Port The harvest of the different grapes is done exclusively by hand. After the white grapes have been on the mash for a certain time, they are carefully pressed. This is done partly by the traditional method with the feet. Brandy is then added and the White Port is stored in large wooden casks for twelve months. Before this port is bottled, it matures for at least three more years in smaller, old oak barrels.
