Pommard AOC - Joseph Drouhin
Pommard AOC - Joseph DrouhinWith the Joseph Drouhin Pommard, a first-class red wine makes its way into the swirling glass. It offers a wonderfully bright, light red color. When you swirl the wine glass, you can perceive an excellent balance in this red wine, as it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass wall. In the glass, this red wine from Joseph Drouhin offers aromas of blackberry, complemented by black cherry, leather and cinnamon. On the palate, Joseph Drouhin’s Pommard starts off delightfully aromatic, fruit-forward and well balanced. Some wines are dry on the label, others truly are. This red wine belongs to the latter group, as it was bottled with only 1.8 g of residual sugar. Balanced and multi-layered, this dense red wine presents itself on the palate. The acidity of the Pommard is strikingly rounded, making this wine wonderfully smooth. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Burgundy wine-growing region, more precisely from Côte de Beaune and Haute Côtes de Beaune, is impressive with its remarkable length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral nuances from the gravel- and clay-dominated soils. Vinification of Joseph Drouhin Pommard The well-balanced Pommard from France is a varietal wine made from the Pinot Noir grape. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Burgundy. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils of clay, gravel and marl. The Pommard is clearly also shaped by the climatic and stylistic factors of Côte de Beaune and Haute Côtes de Beaune. In the best sense of the word, this French wine can be described as an Old World wine, which presents itself in an exceptionally impressive way. After hand-picking, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. There, they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation ends, the elegant Pommard is matured for another 16 months in oak barriques. Food recommendation for Joseph Drouhin Pommard Enjoy this red wine from France ideally at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to spaghetti with caper-tomato sauce, stuffed peppers or pasta with fried sausage dumplings.| Cijena |
