Estate Red - Klein Constantia

Estate Red - Klein ConstantiaEstate Red - Klein ConstantiaWith the Klein Constantia Estate Red, a first-class red wine comes into the swirled glass. In this it reveals a wonderfully dense, crimson color. If you give it some air by swirling, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which shows in church windows at the edge of the glass. This South African cuvée presents wonderfully fragrant and complex notes of morello cherries, plums, black cherries and black currants in the glass. In addition, there are hints of cocoa bean, dark chocolate and oriental spices. This dense and velvety red wine presents itself on the palate with pressure and complexity. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Estate Red presents itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this red wine with good aging potential from the wine-growing region Coastal Region, more precisely from Cape Town, finally inspires with considerable reverberation. Vinification of the Klein Constantia Estate Red This powerful red wine from South Africa is made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Syrah. Of course, the Estate Red is also determined by climatic and stylistic factors Cape Town. When perfect physiological ripeness is assured, the grapes for Estate Red are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by 12 months of aging in French oak barrels. Food recommendation for the Estate Red from Klein Constantia Drink this red wine from South Africa ideally tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to spaghetti with caper-tomato sauce, ossobuco or vegetable couscous with beef meatballs. Awards for the Estate Red Klein Constantia James Suckling on the 2017: A full, rich Bordeaux blend with lots of blackberry, currant, chocolate and walnut. Some mint as well. Round and polished tannins. Lots of fruit on the finish. Still comes across as slightly restrained and balanced. A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot. This wine will age beautifully. Give it at least three to four years to age. Tim Atkin: 90 points for 2018 James Suckling: 93 points for 2017 James Suckling: 94 points for 2016 Wine Spectator: 90 points for 2016 Robert Parker: 91 points for 2015
