Vinification of Conceito Unico Red This powerful red wine from Portugal is vinified from the grape varieties Tempranillo, Touriga Franca, and Touriga Nacional. The Unico Red is an Old World wine through and through, as this Portuguese wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. After hand-picking, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the powerful Unico Red is aged for several months in French oak barrels. Food recommendation for the Unico Red from Conceito This Portuguese wine is best enjoyed at a tempered 15–18°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompaniment to stuffed bell peppers, lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, or vegetable couscous with beef meatballs.
