If you tilt the glass slightly, you can see a transition of the hue towards garnet red at the rim of this barrel-aged wine. Swirling the glass reveals this red wine’s high viscosity, shown by pronounced church windows on the glass wall. This Italian cuvée reveals wonderfully expressive notes of blackberries, mulberries, morello cherries, and blueberries in the glass. Added to this are hints of oriental spices, black tea, and cinnamon. Velenosi Ludi Offida presents itself delightfully dry to the wine lover. This red wine never appears coarse or austere, but round and smooth. The finish of this well-ageworthy red wine from the Marche wine-growing region ultimately impresses with a lovely aftertaste. Vinification of Ludi Offida by Velenosi The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully powerful cuvée Ludi Offida from Velenosi are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Montepulciano grapes. Ludi Offida is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. The fact that the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Montepulciano grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate also has a very strong impact on the ripening of the fruit. This is expressed, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high alcohol content in the wine. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately brought to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After it is complete, Ludi Offida is aged for several more months in French oak barrels. Food recommendation for Ludi Offida by Velenosi This Italian is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15–18°C.
