Le Merle Merlot Valle d`Aosta DOP - Les Cretes

A Merlot that you wouldn't expect from such a cool region: smooth tannins, present but well-integrated acidity, dark plums, wild cherries, lavender and dried spices combined with an impressive length and a drinkability that begs for a second bottle. 18 months in French barriques and another 12 in the bottle did the wine extremely well.
