The bouquet of this Pinot Gris estate wine presents aromas of ripe, floury pear, almond, and herbs. Despite its clarity and delicate juiciness, the body is dense and powerful. On the palate, one detects a slightly salty minerality combined with ripe pear, vanilla blossom, and a hint of sweet extract. The Rings winery produces the grapes for this VDP.GUTSWEIN in its own vineyards in Freinsheim, Ungstein, and Kallstadt. Rings personally oversees, manages, and oversees everything from pruning to hand-picking. The grapes, all of which are harvested by hand, are then partially pressed whole and, after a short maceration period, fermented with natural yeast. 80% of the wine is aged in stainless steel vats and the remaining 20% in large wooden barrels. Since organic farming is extremely important to the Rings winery, no additional fining or other aids are used.
