Along with Saint-Joseph, this is one of the yearly favorites among the red wines from southern France, although southern France here means northern Rhône. Cold cigar smoke, dark tobacco, liquorice, dried leaves and olive tapenade on the nose. Very fragrant, with further aeration ripe, sweet plums and eucalyptus notes are added. Very straightforward in the mouth, but also creamy without becoming overly broad. Salmiak, incense, lots of ethereal notes. Subtle minerality and an incredibly elegant, dancing acid structure carry the wine. Very long and very stimulating. As I said, a favorite wine.
