Mit dem 2021er wird der Tignanello 50! Kaum zu glauben, doch es ist schon ein halbes Jahrhundert her, das Piero Antinori mit diesem Wein einen Meilenstein der italienischen Weingeschichte setzte, indem er mit dem 1971er Jahrgang erstmals einen Wein schuf, der in Barriques ausgebaut war, neben Sangiovese einen Teil Cabernet in der Cuvée hatte und der nach seinem Ursprungsort benannt war. 2021 hat sich in der ganzen Toskana als hervorragender Jahrgang herausgestellt und auch der stets gute Tignanello ist herausragend, er duftet komplex nach roten und dunklen Früchten, nach Gewürzen wie Pfeffer und Nelke sowie dezent floral nach Rosen. Am Gaumen packend, energetisch und vollmundig. Er schmeckt perfekt rund und hat so viel Extrakt und jugendliche Kraft, dass Sie über viele Jahre Freude daran haben werden. The Marchesi Antinori 2021 Tignanello (made with 79% Sangiovese, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc) pulls on all the heartstrings. To be released in May, the wine shows a quintessentially pretty taste profile with tart fruit flavors, redcurrant, tea leaf, heritage rose, crushed white pepper, licorice, nutmeg, clove and chopped mint. It opens slowly to reveal more richness and exuberance with time, becoming downright voluptuous and heady a short while later. The through line, however, remains the bright freshness and minerality of Sangiovese. Compared to the 2018 vintage (which I also loved), this vintage has more overall fruit weight and volume.
