Vinification of Marchesi Antinori Villa Antinori Rosso Toscana This well-balanced red wine from Italy is cuvéeed from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese and Syrah. Without question, Villa Antinori Rosso Toscana is also shaped by the climatic and stylistic factors of Toscana IGT. This Italian can quite literally be described as an Old World wine, which presents itself in an extraordinarily impressive way. The ripeness of the grapes for this wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese and Syrah is to a very large extent influenced by the climate of the growing region. In Tuscany, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high must weight. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand at optimal ripeness. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by 18 months of maturation in barriques made from French, American and Hungarian oak. After barrel aging, the wine undergoes considerable bottle aging, which makes this red wine even more complex. Food recommendation for Marchesi Antinori Villa Antinori Rosso Toscana This Italian should ideally be enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfectly suited as a companion to spaghetti with caper-tomato sauce, duck breast with sugar snap peas or leek soup.
