Alvi’s Drift Signature Range Cabernet Sauvignon is a South African red wine produced in the Breede River area, a region characterized by an ideal Mediterranean microclimate and a great variety of soils. The estate, owned by the van der Merwe family for generations, is distinguished by its focus on quality. The Cabernet Sauvignon from the Signature range embodies the winery's distinctive fruity style, making it a versatile wine, suitable for any occasion.The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are hand-picked during the cool morning hours, selecting only the best bunches. After pressing, the must is transferred to tanks for fermentation lasting about seven days. During this period, part of the juice remains in contact with the skins to enhance color and aromatic complexity. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for up to two months, thus enriching it with elegance and structure while maintaining a strong fruity imprint.In appearance, it shows a deep ruby tone, with warm notes of spices, blackcurrant, and a hint of chocolate on the nose. On the palate, it is balanced, with soft tannins and a pleasant acidity that gives freshness and harmony, offering a good persistence and an enveloping taste profile.It pairs perfectly with hearty dishes such as grilled lamb chops, beef pepper pie, or chili con carne.
