Àn - Anima Negra
Àn - Anima NegraThe barrel-aged Àn from the Balearic wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in a bright ruby red. If you give it some air by swirling it in the wine glass, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, as it does not appear watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. The first nose of the Àn presents notes of plum jam and blackberry. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by barrel-aging notes such as minerality, blueberry and toasted wood. Anima Negra Àn presents itself to the wine lover pleasantly dry. This red wine never appears rough or austere, but rather round and smooth. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an immensely powerful texture. Thanks to the moderate acidity, the Àn caresses the palate with a soft feel, without lacking juicy liveliness. On the finish, this youthful wine from the Balearic wine-growing region finally delights with remarkable length. Once again, hints of plum jam and blackberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils are added. Vinification of Àn by Anima Negra The basis for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Àn cuvée from Anima Negra are Callet and Manto Negro grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Balearic Islands. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into limestone soils. The Àn is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Spaniard exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. Once perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for Àn are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of rough and barely selective mechanical harvesters. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Àn can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for 14 months. Food pairing for Anima Negra Àn This red wine from Spain is best enjoyed at a tempered 15 - 18°C. It is perfectly suited as a companion to pasta with fried sausage dumplings, leek soup or vegetable stew with pesto.| Price |
