Mâcon-Azé - Domaine de la Garenne

Domaine de La Garenne is owned by the Devillard family (Domaine de Perdrix in Nuits St Georges, Chateau Chamirey in Mercurey).The vines were planted in 1986 and are located in the village of Azé in the Maconnais wine-growing region.4.5 hectares are in production on a southeast-facing slope on a limestone terrace. It is the highest vineyard in the municipality of Azé, and the vines benefit from this exposed location.The grapes are carefully harvested by hand. After pressing, the juice is chilled overnight before fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks.The wine then ages on its lees in stainless steel tanks for over nine months.A beautiful pale color in the glass with green reflections. The nose is very intense with mineral notes underlined by fennel and black pepper. Very fresh and lively on the palate.
