Vinification of the Esteva Douro from Casa Ferreirinha This balanced red wine from Portugal is made from Tempranillo, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grape varieties. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Esteva Douro are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Esteva Douro can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months....
