On the nose, wonderful aromas of ripe pears as well as apples unfold - underpinned by fresh notes of citrus fruits. On the palate, there is a wonderful interplay of balanced acidity and notes of ripe pome fruit. The finish is wonderfully fresh and clear. Vinifcation of the Schug Chardonnay Carneros After harvesting the Chardonnay grapes, the must is fermented in wooden barrels. Then this white wine is aged sur lie (aging on fine lees). This aging lasts 8 months and is carried out in French medium toasted Allier barriques (of which 17% are new barrels).
