Catena Alta Chardonnay - Catena ZapataThe Catena Alta Chardonnay by Catena Zapata from the Argentine wine-growing region of Mendoza is a brilliant, varietally pure and complex white wine. This wine shines golden yellow in the glass, showing delicate green reflections. The bouquet exudes scents of lemon zest, Williams-Christ pears, mirabelles and tropical fruits such as mango and pineapple. On the palate, this Argentine white wine is very complex and voluminous, has a good length and a delicately integrated acidity that gives it a proper potential and does not appear tired easily. Vinification of the Catena Zapata Alta Chardonnay The grapes for this Chardonnay come from a small parcel of the Adrianna vineyard. The grapes are whole cluster pressed and then 100% fermented in oak barrels with natural yeasts at low temperature. 30% of this wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation. Finally, this white wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels and rests on the fine lees. This gives the Catena Alta Chardonnay its wonderful creaminess. Food recommendation for the Chardonnay Catena Alta Zapata We recommend this dry white wine from Argentina with fish dishes and shellfish.
