Abadia Retuerta Pago Garduña is an intense and complex red wine from the Douro Valley, produced entirely with Syrah grapes. The vineyard, located at a high altitude with a north-eastern orientation, is protected from the afternoon sun, and the chalky, white soil promotes excellent ripening of the grapes. The winemaking follows a traditional process with fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by a 16-month refinement in French oak barriques. This allows us to develop a wine with notable aromatic characteristics and a complex structure. Pago Garduña stands out for its intense color. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet with a surprising mix of berries, plums, blackberries and juniper berries, accompanied by hints of black olive, clove spice and black and white pepper. On the palate it is elegant and soft, but at the same time intense, with silky and fruity tannins that envelop the palate, and a long finish that expresses great potential. This wine pairs perfectly with game meat dishes.
