Abadia Retuerta Pago Valdebellón is a complex and distinctive wine from the Douro Valley, produced exclusively with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The vineyard is located at the highest point of the estate with the soil composed of sand and fine calcareous silt, giving the wine a unique minerality. The winemaking involves traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by 16 months of aging in French oak barriques. This process allows the complex aromatic and structural characteristics of the wine to be developed and integrated in the best possible way. On the nose, Pago Valdebellón offers herbaceous notes of bay leaves, black tea, Mediterranean shrubs, thyme and cistus, with hints of paprika and a smokiness of roasted vegetables and chestnuts. On the palate it is tasty, clean and fragrant, with firm and very fine tannins that intensify over time, suggesting excellent aging potential. This wine pairs perfectly with grilled or roasted red meat dishes.
