Canneto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 0,75 ℓ

The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva of the Canneto company is born on the western hills of Montepulciano, near the church of San Biagio. The company was bought in 1987 by a group of friends from Zurich, admirers of Montepulciano wines, who over the years have built a new cellar and new machinery. The company has 30 hectares of vineyards, 16 of which are dedicated to the production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. It is mainly produced with Sangiovese grapes with a small addition of Merlot and Cabernet, harvested and selected by hand from the end of September to mid-October. After soft crushing and destemming, fermentation takes place in steel with the addition of selected yeasts and at a controlled temperature. Subsequently, the wine ages for 6 months in Slavonian oak barrels (30-40hl), then in steel vats and finally for another 6 months in the bottle. The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva di Canneto is characterized by a ruby red color with garnet hues. The nose opens with aromas of currants and ripe cherries, enriched by inviting hints of licorice, tobacco and spices. On the palate it is balanced, with fine and delicate tannins. Perfect in combination with red, grilled or braised meats, stews and game. Also excellent with aged cheeses.
