Vinification of Tanca Gioia Carloforte Gioia The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Gioia cuvée from Tanca Gioia Carloforte are Moscatel and Nasco grapes. In Sardinia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand and volcanic rock. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Gioia can continue to harmonize for several months on the fine lees.
