Banfi’s Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio alle Mura is a wine of great elegance, produced with Sangiovese grapes selected internally, coming from the most suitable vineyards of the estate. The soils, characterized by clayey and pebbly sediments, give the wine a solid structure and a distinctive personality. Fermentation takes place in combined steel and French oak vats, at a controlled temperature. The refinement then continues for at least 30 months, divided between French oak barrels and barriques. This long period of refinement enriches the wine, giving it complexity and depth. Bright ruby red in color, the nose reveals a complex bouquet of plum, small red fruits, citrus notes and nuances of tobacco. In the mouth it is full and enveloping, with well-polished tannins and a long and refined persistence, typical of a great reserve. Perfect as a meditation wine, it pairs splendidly with savoury and succulent dishes, such as aged cheeses and cured meats.
