Bertani Catullo Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore DOC 0,75 ℓ

An evocative and romantic homage to one of the greatest poets of all time, Catullo is a wine that comes from the terraced vineyards of Tenuta Novare, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, from a fine blend of 70% Corvina Veronese, 20% Corvinone and 10 % Rondinella. This prodigious wine is obtained from the second fermentation Ripasso on the still sweet pomace of Amarone Classico. It ages in French oak barrels for about 12 months, plus a further year in the special concrete tanks; finally refines for another 6 months in bottle. Ruby red in the glass, it opens to the nose with delicate spicy notes of vanilla and chocolate, accompanied by the typical hints of black cherry and white pepper. The sip is easy to drink and, at the same time, has a silky tannic structure and excellent persistence, veering on a fresh and soft finish, with pleasant sapidity. It is a harmonious, elegant and balanced wine, to be paired with medium-aged cheeses, grilled and roasted meats. Try it with game.
