The Founders Reserve produced by The Glenlivet is a single malt Scotch Whiskey produced in Speyside, an area in the north-east of Scotland from which some of the best whiskeys in the world come. This whiskey, in particular, is a tribute to the style of whiskeys made by the founder of Glenlivet, George Smith, who ages mainly in ex-bourbon American oak barrels. Straw-yellow in color, the Founders Reserve opens with notes of freshly cut grass and green apple, embellished with floral and vanilla references. In the mouth it is delicate and fruity, with a finish of medium persistence that closes on notes of vanilla, caramel and honey. Excellent to serve with ice or smooth, it manages to surprise inside sophisticated cocktails.
