Hubert Lignier Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Didiers Hospices de Nuits 1er Cru

89-92/100 vinous (this auction item was in 100% new oak until the Ligniers took possession of the barrels in June of 2014): Good deep red with ruby highlights. Totally different on the nose than the wines vinified by the Ligniers, with licorice and violet aromas heavily marked by bitter chocolate from the oak. Sweet and dense in the mouth, spreading out nicely to coat the paate on the back end. Boasts nicely integrated acidity and serious but ripe tannins, but will this absorb its new oak?
