Ermanno Accornero is among Italy's finest producers. He and his family cultivate their small vineyard in the heart of Monferrato, in the village of Vignale. It is said that the best Barberas in Italy come from here. Ermanno owns what is perhaps Monferrato's finest vineyard, the Grand Cru Bricco Battista. The vines here are over 75 years old and face 100% south. The Bricco Battista vineyard yields a delicate yet powerful and profound wine. It is aged for 12-18 months in French oak barrels, followed by a year in the bottle. This wine is produced only in exceptional vintages and is available in limited quantities. Color: sparkling ruby red. Aroma: rich bouquet of black forest berries. Taste: full, juicy, with fine acidity, profound and velvety, very fruity, and with an almost endless finish.
