Caro - Bodegas CaroCARO is a collaboration between Nicolas CAtena and ROthschild (the first two initial letters form the name CARO). The distinct Argentine character comes from the Malbec grape. The addition of Cabernet Sauvignon also gives it elegance and complexity. The result is a splendid and refined wine that combines in a balanced way the Argentine charisma with the style of Bordeaux wines. The rich red color of this wine reflects with purple hues in the glass. The bouquet holds rich, fresh fruit aromas of red and black fruit (especially red currants and blackberries) and is rounded out by mint and cedar. The bouquet is extended by notes of vanilla, spices as well as mocha (typical of French oak) and floral as well as dried fruity nuances. This Argentine red wine has a dense, well-structured and complex mouthfeel with ripe tannins, good length and a full medium palate. The persistent finesse of the tannins gives this wine its good length and pleasant, soft mouthfeel. Vinification of the Bodegas Caro Grand Vin The Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested by hand and immediately brought to the Bodegas Caro winery. There, the grapes are strictly selected and prepared for the fermentation process. The must is fermented at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. For aging, this red wine is placed in wooden barrels for 18 months - 60% of which are new wood. Food recommendation for the CARO We recommend this dry red wine from Argentina with dark braised meat dishes, duck, lamb, game and with aged cheeses and hard cheeses. Before enjoying, this wine should be decanted for at least 2 hours.
