This South African cuvée reveals wonderfully expressive notes of plums and blackberries in the glass. These are joined by hints of black tea. David & Nadia Elpidios delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with an exceptionally low residual sugar content. As you would expect from a wine in the icon wine segment, this South African, despite all its dryness, enchants with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. On the finish, this well-ageing wine from the Western Cape wine-growing region finally impresses with remarkable length. Once again, notes of blackberry and plum appear. Vinification of Elpidios by David & Nadia The well-balanced Elpidios from South Africa is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Grenache Noir, Carignan, Cinsault, and Syrah. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months in French oak barrels. Food recommendation for David & Nadia Elpidios This South African wine is best enjoyed at a tempered 15 - 18°C. It is the perfect companion to duck breast with sugar snap peas, ossobuco, or braised chicken in red wine.
