Vougeot AOC Les Cras PC - Domaine de la Vougeraie

The stony and calcareous clay soil of the Les Cras plot is the mineral-rich nucleus of this magnificent Burgundy and forms the basis of its complexity. Fermentation took place in large oak barrels. The wine then aged for 15 months in Cîteaux barriques. Before bottling, the wine was placed in stainless steel tanks for a month to harmonize, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. A refined nose of dark-fleshed fruits such as blackcurrants, plums, and blackberries. The fruit aromas are complemented by cocoa and a potpourri of cloves, cinnamon, and vanilla. On the palate, it's taut with plenty of pull and extract, rounded off by harmonious, silky tannins that are perfectly integrated. Further aromas of licorice, morels, and somewhat wild notes emerge later. A harmonious wine with a promising future!
