A representative whiskey of Speyside, Aberlour's 16 Years Old takes on particular uniqueness following the 16-year ageing period that it spends in American ex-bourbon oak barrels and in small barrels that previously contained sherry. With a deep golden colour tending to amber, it opens with an austere and deep perfume, on floral and dried fruit notes. The palate is totally imprinted on the resin, satisfying and soft, with a long and warm, slightly spicy finish in which delicate hints of leather and oak are perceived. Excellent to serve diluted with a few drops of water or on ice, it can be used as the base of numerous cocktails.
