Alpha Special Cuvee Chardonnay - Montes

Zapallar lies on the coast of Aconcagua, less than 170 km northwest of the Chilean capital, Santiago.Beachgoers enjoy the sunset here. The Chardonnay takes advantage of the maritime climate to ripen perfectly,with dense, vibrant aromas that Montes captures for us with meticulous attention to detail: The grapes are harvested in thecool morning hours, either pressed whole immediately or destemmed or cold-macerated beforehand,almost 40 percent of the must is fermented directly in the barrel, the rest in tanks, then half of the wines are aged for twelve monthsin French barriques, remarried to create the special cuvée, and bottled. Phew!But the Chardonnay rewards every effort with a perfect balance of ripe exotic fruit, nutty notes, andelegant barrique spice, with juicy freshness and a super-long finish.
