Grattamacco Bolgheri Superiore Rosso DOC - ColleMassari

The year 2021 in Italy was a rollercoaster of extremes with exceptional weather events. A temperature drop with frosts in April and a heat wave in August led to low yields in some areas. However, the rainfall in July generally ensured sufficient water reserves, so that the winemakers in the Maremma region generally weathered the hot period well. Grattamacco was able to harvest healthy and very well-ripened grapes. Compared to previous years, the wine's character has become even more refined and charming without losing any depth. The opulent nose suggests that Cabernet Sauvignon is the dominant grape variety. The finest cassis aromas mingle with blueberries, a touch of bell pepper, and a hint of essential oils. On the palate, it is already quite approachable, yet opulent with considerable length and the typical minerality. The polished tannins, combined with wonderfully ripe berry fruit aromas, create a magnificent overall impression. Delivered in a 6-bottle wooden case.
