Rasteau AOP Vieilles Vignes Tardieu - Maison Tardieu-Laurent

The nose is initially floral and subtly spicy, with hints of violets and dried herbs. The fruit is even more concentrated than its predecessor: juicy red berries, especially raspberry and red currant, accompanied by ripe black cherry and a touch of blackberry. In the background, there are subtle notes of dark chocolate, licorice, and a mineral touch of graphite. On the palate, the 2023 is powerful but not heavy. The tannins are present and provide structure, while remaining fine-grained and well-integrated. The acidity is somewhat milder than in the cool 2021 vintage, yet still contributes freshness and balance. The texture is creamy and elegant, with a long, spicy finish reminiscent of Mediterranean herbs and dark fruit. A Rasteau with depth and character, which, despite its intensity, is invigorating and shows great potential for the coming years.
