Côtes du Rhône Blanc AOP Cuvée Speciale Tardieu - Maison Tardieu-Laurent

The 2023 vintage has once again shown how capricious and unpredictable nature can be. Until mid-August, all climatic signs suggested a great vintage. Then an extreme heat wave set in in large parts of France, especially along the Rhône, which the younger vineyards in particular had to struggle with. It is always admirable how Tardieu-Laurent is still able to maintain the balance in its wines year after year. The effort put in should not be underestimated, especially with the entry-level qualities. Meadow herbs, light tobacco and ripe apricots on the nose. Lots of hazelnut aromas, ripe citrus and a lovely softness and creaminess on the palate. Pleasant bitter notes and a subtle underlying minerality on the finish.
