Vinification of Grillo Iole Verduzzo Friulano The foundation for the powerful Verduzzo Friulano from Italy is grapes of the Verduzzo variety. In Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay and marl soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
