It was bottled with 7.4 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine, this German wine delights, despite all its dryness, with a finely tuned balance. Flavor does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. Balanced and complex, this crisp and light white wine presents itself on the palate. Thanks to its distinctive fruit acidity, the Zwei Herzen Scheurebe reveals itself on the palate as exceptionally fresh and lively. The finish of this white wine from the Pfalz wine-growing region, more precisely from Kirchheim, ultimately convinces with a good echo. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral notes from the limestone- and clay-dominated soils. Vinification of the Zwei Herzen Scheurebe by Weingut Hammel The basis for the balanced Zwei Herzen Scheurebe from the Pfalz is grapes of the Scheurebe variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Pfalz. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into soils of limestone and clay. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. After it is complete, the elegant Zwei Herzen Scheurebe is matured for several more months in oak barrels. Food recommendation for the Zwei Herzen Scheurebe by Weingut Hammel This German white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8–10°C. It is perfectly suited as a companion to vegetable stew with pesto, asparagus salad with quinoa or cod with cucumber-mustard vegetables.
