Seckinger Maikammer Chardonnay

The Chardonnay comes from the Kapellenberg and Paradies vineyards. After harvesting, the grapes were pressed directly and placed in used barriques and tonneaux without pre-clarification. The wine was aged unfiltered, with only a small amount of sulfur added at bottling.On the nose, the wine is vibrant and slightly reductive, characterized by minerality, herbs, blossoms, and citrus notes, accompanied by a hint of apricot. On the palate, it is taut and precise with ripe acidity, a fine texture, and delicate tannins. The finish is saline and lively – a distinctive, characterful Chardonnay.The Seckinger winery in Niederkirchen in the Palatinate region is run by the brothers Jonas, Philipp, and Lukas Seckinger. Founded in 2012, the winery practices organic viticulture, relies on spontaneous fermentation, aging in wood, and minimal intervention in the cellar – with the aim of producing wines that are as precise and terroir-driven as possible.
